R&D Advanced Creativity
During my time as a QA Engineer with the R&D Advanced Creativity team at HTC Vive, I contributed significantly to improving the quality of VR tracking algorithms, specifically Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). I developed automated testing tools and a web-based database using Python to quantify and visualize test results, which proved beneficial for key development decisions.
Additionally, I designed standardized functional tests based on industry best practices and conducted UX mapping and competitor analysis, providing valuable insights for headset design decisions.
In parallel, I took on the responsibility of creating informative videos for Vive users, explaining the latest headset and controller firmware updates clearly and concisely. These videos not only addressed reported issues but also served as an effective means of communication, ensuring users were well-informed and supported and that the R&D efforts were seen.
My multifaceted role extended to fostering seamless communication between R&D, QA, UX, Project Management, and company leadership by identifying issue root causes through user logs, thereby contributing to a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
